BIO
Thanks for stopping by and having a look. My name is Gaylon Wampler and I'm a Colorado-based photographer who specializes in energy, natural resources and photojournalism. My background is in newspapers and shortly after a stint in the Army, I started my career at the Amarillo Globe while getting my BA at West Texas A&M in nearby Canyon, TX. Next, I shot for the Associated Press, then the Houston Post and went on to shoot for the Denver Post. Since leaving that industry 20 years ago, I've concentrated on magazine, ngo, oil & gas and mining photography as a freelancer. I do this because I love it. I hope that becomes evident as you browse through some of my work.
